Meet Our Family!

Today, Dan & Rebekah Bane are the second-generation owners of Trends Furniture. Rebekah was born and raised in Gillette, WY. In 2008, after studying in Colorado, the couple moved back to help the founder run the daily operations of Trends.

When the founder of Trends Furniture retired in 2014, Dan & Rebekah stepped up to continue the mission of the store. Today, you’ll even find the children working or dusting around the store. It’s a family affair!

The passion of our family is to be a blessing to the community. For over 25 years, the people of our community have supported Trends Furniture. We are so grateful for the support. It is our hope to have a positive impact on everyone we meet by providing quality products with welcoming & friendly service.

We also love to be involved in supporting community activities and events. Dan also works as a part-time firefighter with the Campbell County Fire Department to serve the community. Our store holds regular fundraisers to give-back to local organizations that do the true work to help members of our community and building up opportunity for all in the place we call home.

I'm Jacob, and I've been with Trends for over 10 years. I now work as Warehouse Manager for Trends. I've lived in Gillette for as long as I can remember. In my spare time I enjoy working on classic cars and playing games on my computer.

Our History as a Family Business!

After experiencing disappointment and frustration while trying to shop for furniture, our founder Jerry Ristesund, set out to provide quality furniture at affordable prices to all people regardless of their social class. He had served the community for 10 years as a detention officer at the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department. Jerry cashed out his retirement and took a risk investing it into building a better life for his family and the community.

Jerry opened Trends Consignment Mall in April 1996. In our humble beginnings we were only able to sell used and consignment items out of a converted gym in the Lakeway Professional Plaza. Jerry’s hard work and dedication to “living the dream,” eventually brought the opportunity to move our family business to its current location in the Decker’s Plaza at 408 S. Douglas Hwy. Thurman Decker was a businessman with a keen ability to see a bright future from humble beginnings. The Deckers converted the building from a grocery store to a furniture showroom and consignment mall, complete with vendor craft booths and antiques. Remnants of the grocery store and vendor booths are still visible in our showroom to this day. It was during this move that our name changed to Trends Furniture, Inc.
